President Message
She the change is the culmination of Agilo Foundation’s concern and commitment to the community. The gender inequity witnessed all around and more specifically in the local context when Agilo Foundation is located in Palam Village though urbanized to a large extent continues to witness the old tradition of difference between men and women. Patriarchy continues to exert its strong hold. In various outreach programmes of the Agilo Foundation, the need to pull women out of the traditional role and provide them agency was strongly felt. The interest spontaneity with which these women look forward to Agilo’s team unit made us think deeply and alerted us to the possibility of creating awareness and providing them opportunity to demonstrate their merit/worth. This provided a great impetus to the birth of “She the Change” movement. The movement envisioned with a focus on Women’s development and gender parity intends to provide voice to the women, whose contribution is often ignored. Empowering women is conceded as an important input in nation’s progress and development. She the change capacity building of women with a view to make them economically productive and self-reliant. Apart from significant increased participation in the work place, this movement would help them redefine their role status and identity. It is hoped that movement would sensitise women and their member of the community in a manner that would fructify in a more equitable society
