Voice of the Low: Creating Awareness and Empowering Women

Agilo Foundation’s “She the Change” initiative has been empaneled by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, to conduct workshops aimed at empowering women and creating awareness about their legal rights.

Workshops on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013

The first workshop under this initiative was held at NITE Skill Centre and later extended to large-scale organizations, government bodies, national banks, and corporate institutions.

Key highlights of the workshop:

  • Awareness about the Act: Understanding provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013.

  • Safety Guidelines: Steps women can take to protect themselves in workplaces.

  • Role of Complaint Committees: Importance of having a complaint committee in organizations with more than 10 employees.

The sessions were conducted by Advocate R.S. Rai (LLB) and Mr. Vijay Mudgal (M.Com, LLB), providing practical guidance and legal knowledge to employees.

Workshops on Domestic Violence

Under the “She the Change” project, Agilo Foundation also organized workshops in collaboration with the Delhi Legal Services Authority to address domestic violence.

Key focus areas:

  • Empowering Women to Speak Up: Encouraging women to voice instances of cruelty or abuse.

  • Legal Rights Awareness: Advocates Leela Singh and R.S. Rai provided insights into women’s rights under the Indian Constitution, making the workshops highly informative and impactful.

Through these workshops, Agilo Foundation ensures that women are aware, protected, and confident in exercising their legal rights, fostering a safer and more equitable society.
